One more 'white spacer' question. What is the expected results in gas mileage if I remove the 'white spacer'? I am having a devil of a time with my gas mileage. I am only getting about 35 mpg. I am about to dismantle the carb "yet again" to install a new stock main jet and needle. I have no idea what is presently there. My bike is an 87 with low miles (if I can believe the speedo) The bike sat unused for many years. It was on it's way to the scrap heap when I rescued it. I have cleaned the carb, raised the float to the upper limits of specs, changed to a hotter spark plug and replaced the air cleaner, all with only minor improvements to the gas consumption. I mostly ride the bike on short runs, from 20 to 50 miles and get about 3-500 miles from a spark plug before it is fouled. (I am getting pretty good at changing spark plugs) The bike seems to run good with only an ocasional 'fart'. If the white spacer is still in place, should I remove it when I replace the jet and needle?
